DPPN e.V.: Obtaining funding

DPPN e.V. is trying to obtain project funds to promote science and research as well as training, especially in the field of plant research. DPPN e.V. supports German science and research in particular by arranging and providing efficient infrastructure as well as a tested and robust phenotyping portfolio. With its three partners/members at the FZJ, IPK and HMGU, DPPN e.V. provides the infrastructural and scientific basis of DPPN, which has been under development since 2013. This also includes facilities that already existed at the sites prior to the DPPN project, those that were established from other sources during the DPPN project, and those that will be realized in the future.

With "DPPN-Access", national access ("ACCESS") to the phenotyping infrastructure facilities of the three sites FZJ, IPK and HMGU is to be made possible for external users, in particular those users who have no - or only insufficient - resources available for this themselves. This is aimed especially to university users and users from other publicly funded research institutions in Germany. Access to the facilities is granted on the basis of a simple application procedure.

DPPN e.V. initially acquired the BMBF-funded pilot project "DPPN-ACCESS" (01.01.2022-31.12.2023). The requirements for the application procedure and the application guidelines were drawn up and two calls were launched. Here you can find the results of the funded user experiments.

In order to ensure the implementation of further external user projects in the longer term, the BMBF-funded follow-up project "DPPN-ACCESS 2.0" (01.01.2024-31.12.2028) was acquired. The follow-up project DPPN-ACCESS 2.0 is intended to ensure an extended value creation of the funds invested in the DPPN project and thus contribute to improving the conditions for national research in the field of plant phenotyping. Further calls for access will be launched.
